Your Image

If you look like you walked out of 1980, how do you think your audience will perceive you as a person who is up-to-date, creative and innovative? Make sure that you keep your personal image current. Get a new hairstyle every couple of years, be sure you keep your wardrobe up to date and your nails manicured, keep your ears and eyebrows trimmed and make every detail about your appearance is first class.
When you are speaking, be sure your language is consistent with your image as a speaker. If you are speaking about business, be sure you speak in professional terms. If your topic is spirituality, your language, image and everything about you should speak of your spiritual interests.
Speakers need to always be prompt and by prompt I mean showing up early to everything. It is all part of the image you portray.
Being on time includes returning calls and email in a  timely manner.  I have established a routine where I look at my emails on Monday and Thursday and listen to voice mail on Tuesday and Friday. It is amazing how much time I have been able to save. It would be a rare occasion where someone might have an emergency needing my attention with less frequency.
