Back-of-the-Room Sales Materials

Even when you speak for free, you can earn a handsome fee for speaking. I was speaking at the Women’s Council of Realtors and there were 35 people in attendance. I sold ten books, 9 CDs, picked up two consulting clients and 2 training sessions. All together I made $3,800 over the following three months.

I mentioned earlier how you should record every presentation you deliver. Then you can use audacity.com which is free to edit the presentation. There are many sites where you can download free music and use it for a fifteen second introduction and another fifteen seconds at the end. Be sure to add tracks so when you listen in your car and stop to get out and then get back in, it will keep it from going back to the beginning.

Making CD labels is easy enough. I prefer glossy labels and buy them on eBay. I get 200 Vita labels for about $25, which is ten times more labels than you’d get at the office supply stores.

I also get the DVD boxes on ebay for about 25 cents each. I buy photo paper on ebay or Costco. I create professional labels and covers that match and are unique for each of my programs.

You can write white papers, produce ebooks, conduct teleseminars or even conduct interviews and they all become products you can sell at your events.

While you’re speaking, be sure to pick up your products and refer to a poignant concept to solidify why they will want to purchase it.
